Karen graduated from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles in 1977 with a BA in Advertising/ Illustration and built her professional skills with post-graduate classes in business and finance. Prior to founding Great Scott in 1982, her experience included freelance design and illustration in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Phoenix.

 

 

Christine Simpson

Christine graduated from Pima Community College in 2003 with a degree in Digital Arts-Design. Achieving High Honors, she excelled in courses such as Graphic Design, Typography, Color Rendering and Theory, Offset Printing, and software classes such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Christine was one of a select few chosen for the Pima Internship Program, where she was hired at Great Scott Design, and in turn became a full-time designer after one year.

 

 

Jim Scott

 

Adding depth to the variety of visual communications practiced at Great Scott are Jim Scott's fine art pieces. These sheet metal sculptures vary from 36" to 70" and rely on the strength of the material to reconcile mass with gravity. His experience in product design and drafting allow him to create these studies of balance that exhibit a precarious stability and posess a dynamism apart from their stasis.
